Location Recce-The Yare Gallery

Where did you go?

We went on a trip to ‘The Yare Gallery’ in Great Yarmouth and explored the art gallery and the work of the current exhibition John Kiki. We looked at how he creates art and more information about him.

Why did you go?

We went to understand the gallery, what it does and its main function. We also looked at the room our video will be in and how it will be produced.

What did you do whilst there?

We explored each floor of the gallery, receiving facts from the director of the gallery on each picture. We explored the sculpture garden as well as watching a video of John creating art which helped us to gain some information on who he is as an artist.

What were the outcomes?

The building was called the Merchants house many hundred years- built in the 17^th century, once a nelson museum. Our video will be part of a NHS Portrait Gallery and the video will be shown in a separate room shown in February as a free exhibition.
